A J Wells & Sons Ltd, manufacturers of Charnwood Stoves, was founded in 1972 and is a privately owned, family controlled, British company that specialises in the design and manufacture of high quality wood burning and multifuel stoves. As the oldest British manufacturer of wood burning stoves, run by second and third generations of the family, they are dedicated to providing products of enduring design and of the highest quality.

It all started in 1972, when Alfred Wells and two of his sons, started a small engineering business in Niton on the Isle of Wight. Over the last forty years they have grown from their original small factory of around 1500 sq. Ft to the current site of over 50,000sq. Ft.

As well as Charnwood Stoves, A J Wells & Sons provides the signage for all of the London Underground network. And with this expertise have recently expanded their enamel business to produce the Vlaze series of kitchen tops, shower inserts and stove surrounds.

Charnwood Stoves have many other stoves choices for a large variety of homes and settings. From the Tor, a 3 sided contemporary stove, through to the Country range with its traditional styling, there is a Charnwood stove for everyone.

One of the most popular features of Charnwood Stoves is the Converting Grate which is available on both the Cove and Island range of stoves. This unique grate system allows you to switch from burning wood to smokeless coal with a simple turn of the handle, no mess and no waiting for the fire to die down before having to switch the grate out.

Charnwood Stoves also have the option for 8 different colours for their stoves, ranging from the traditional matt black to almond, bronze and even pewter. The majority of their stoves also come with options for a stand, with a choice of 5 different options just on the Cove range.

If you are looking for an inset stove, then Charnwood also produce 3 different stoves for you. The C-Four Insert was designed to fit in an existing British fireplace with little to no works required to your fireplace. The Bay and Bay GT can be placed in your home either at floor level, as with a traditional fireplace, or part way up your chimney breast.
